Background

Better World is a registered national non-governmental and nonprofit Jordanian Company that is dedicated to ending human suffering, and Community development. Better World was established in June 2017, and was distinguished as the only organization that kept sustainable deliverance for the humanitarian aids and support to the Al-Rukban camp. We’re known inside Syria for keeping our promises and our unshakeable will to maintain the people’s dignity. Better World has been working with the most affected population enhancing the livelihood opportunities for affected populations.

Better World aims to help stabilize local communities and promote the return of internally displaced persons by restoring and repairing basic social infrastructure and services in severely affected crisis areas with limited access.Our main goal is to achieve a rapid return to sustainable development pathways by restoring and expanding more responsive essential services and infrastructure for affected communities.Women empowerment is on top of our list, since women are core of society and maintaining a healthy base promotes effective growth. In addition to the fact that our society deprives women of complete and utter independence. We were created to offer it. Better World considers that the ability to enjoy basic human rights is tied to access to livelihood. Therefore, all Better World programs are based on the belief that all people must have a decent standard of living where opportunities are available to all without any discrimination.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The objectives of the assignment are as follows:

• Work with the Better World for proposal and other solicitations. Review the publicly available information on the funders’ current portfolio and strategies to ensure they sufficiently match those of BW;
• Develop initial concept notes that match the funder’s requirements based on inputs from the Teams;
• With the Team’s inputs, design digital payments, finance and innovation proposals;
• Develop and/or standardize material for proposals including background information, organizational capability statements, theories of change, logical frameworks, descriptions of previous work, activity plans, etc;
• Condense both public and internal research to provide clear basis for proposed interventions and context;
• Gather together documents required for annexes;
• Develop high quality final documents complete with links, graphics and tables for submission.

  Required Skills and Experience

  Education:

  • A Masters’ degree in finance, economics, international development, public/business administration, social sciences, or related discipline or the equivalent experience.

  Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the design, proposal writing, and/or management of financial inclusion or financial sector development programmes for developing countries, including the capacity to prepare logical, coherent, and consistent documents is mandatory.
  • Prior demonstrated experience developing proposals for institutional donors is mandatory. Work with the European Union is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of successful grant applications.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with project members in various locations and from multiple organisations, including remotely writing and revising proposal documents.
  • Ability to integrate different experiences, methodologies, and approaches from a diverse range of stakeholders, organisations, and technical experts from multiple sectors.
  • Excellent English speaking/writing skills required. A minimum of five years of experience in projects with financial inclusion as a focus or part is mandatory;
  • Working knowledge of concepts in digital financial inclusion and preferably knowledge and exposure to digital finance, including mobile money and other technologies.
  • Experience working with NGOs or a similar type organization.

  Language:

  • Excellent written and oral English is mandatory.
